Meet the Team
Thames Teachers is run and managed by Educators with many years’ experience who offer a professional, friendly and well-informed service. We collaborate with local schools, LEA’s and Education centres and have developed excellent relationships with them over the years. For a thorough, professional and personal service, there is no need to look further than Thames Teachers.
Deon – Director
I started my teaching career as a Primary Teacher and then moved into Secondary Education for several years as a Music Teacher and Head of Department. I wanted to combine my desire to start a business with my Education experience which lead me to Education Recruitment. I have been running Thames Teachers since 2010 and have seen our fantastic agency grow from strength to strength. I couldn’t wish for a better team! When I’m not working, I play the piano and clarinet, sing in choirs, compete my horse, Boris and unwind by enjoying the countryside where I live in Buckinghamshire.
Jenna – International Talent Search
I moved to London 10 years ago and spent my first year teaching. Teaching in this great city is an experience I’ll never forget and shall always recommend to those considering it. For the past 9 years, I’ve been on the recruitment side, finding my niche working at this fantastic, forward-thinking company. I thrive working in the ever changing recruitment, sales & operations side of our industry and am confident that our team of consultants provide an outstanding service. Outside of work I enjoy runs along the Thames and regular weekend trips away!
Hannah – Teacher Recruitment Manager
I am an Australian – trained and experienced teacher having also spent time in the UK classrooms. I understand the fundamental value of quality teaching and love the diversity that Thames Teachers offers. In my spare time, I’m an avid wanderluster and love nothing more than getting out and exploring the great world in which we live!
Georgia – Teacher Recruitment Consultant
I am a British born travel maniac who has lived across two continents and four countries. I have a strong Recruitment background in both commercial and Education sectors. I am passionate about the Education market as in my opinion it is the foundation in which all other markets grow from: we won’t have future leaders without educational leaders to show them how! In my spare time I enjoy weekend escapes and visiting historical sites.
Kim – Support Recruitment Manager
I am an Australian, Melbourne born and bred coffee lover with over 12 years’ experience in Recruitment throughout various industries including disability, mental health and welfare. I have found a special interest within Education Recruitment where I thrive on supporting and guiding both schools and education staff to find their perfect match and continue the growth and learning of our new generations! In my spare time I love nothing more than a run up the Thames River, soaking up some sun in a London park and a quick trip out to the English countryside for a hike and a picnic when I can.
Crystal – Support Recruitment Consultant
Having in English Literature from Cardiff University, I have always had an interest in Education and combined with my 2 years of recruitment experience, Thames Teachers is the perfect fit for me. I’m a born and bred South Londoner so it seems fitting that I’d be in charge of schools in Greater London. My free time is spent planning weekend getaways and listening to Beyoncé!
Chris – Payroll & Compliance Manager
I joined Thames Teachers in June 2015 and recently been promoted to Payroll and Compliance Manager. I trained as a music teacher in schools across Manchester, achieving QTS in 2010, following which I taught performing arts at a secondary school in Leeds. After leaving teaching in 2012 I spent three years working in financial services; my role at Thames Teachers brings together my knowledge of the British education system and my financial background. Outside of work, I enjoy performing and writing music; my songs have been featured on national television and radio. I also enjoy reading, going to the theatre and travelling.
I have been the Office Manager of Thames Teachers since the company started. I maintain and oversee the day to day functions of Thames Teachers working alongside our Managing Director. I am also involved in our two sister companies and divide my time equally between them which can be quite a juggling act at times but I love the challenge and the fast paced environment in which I work. My role involves keeping our team running smoothly by keeping the budget straight, the bills processed, the calendar updated and assisting the team by ironing any issues – big or small. I love to travel and learn about different cultures. In my free time, I like photography, take dance classes, go hiking, do yoga and spend time with my friends and family.
As an Apprentice Compliance Administrator, I make sure that each candidate has an up to date and fully complete registration file. I enjoy the fact that the work I do at Thames Teachers enables me to be constantly occupied. In my spare time I enjoy archery, writing and relaxing at home!
