An opportunity for a Head of School has arisen at an alternative provision catering for KS2-4 students in East London on either a full or part-time basis.
Due to a boost in enrolment numbers and funding, an Alternative Provision in East London is welcoming applications for the position of Head of School. The Director is open to applications from candidates who don’t necessarily have senior leadership experience but have worked in middle management and understand the alternative provision environment. The successful candidate will report to the Director and will be responsible for 3 other leadership team members in addition to a teaching and support staff. The role will oversee the operations of the school so a background in a similar setting is ideal.
The salary banding on offer is capped at £48,000 – £50,000 per annum given the small size of the school however there is large scope for pay progression with growing enrolment numbers. Applicants must have worked in a leadership capacity previously, ideally within an alternative provision or inner-London school setting. As this is an interim role until December/January in the first instance, the outgoing Head Teacher is able to work on a part-time basis. Therefore the role could be offered on a 3-4 day per week or full-time basis.
This is a small and recently established Alternative Provision in East London. The school offers targeted provisions for high need learners who struggle to access to the mainstream curriculum. Class sizes are small and the leadership team work hard to ensure that students are well supported with their learning. An experienced teaching and support staff work collaboratively together and undergo frequent professional development in the areas of safeguarding, restraint training, behaviour management and working with vulnerable young adults. The school provides students with a broad and exciting curriculum that aims to re-engage them and boost attendance and attainment.
