A sudden maternity contract for a Year 4 Teacher has arisen at a 2-form entry primary school in Waltham Forest from the February half-term.
Originally set for the summer term, this Year 4 maternity cover has now been pushed forward to the 19th of February. This is a full-time role which would suit an experienced KS 2 teacher as the school cannot accommodate an NQT given the sudden notice period. The Head Teacher describes the class as a well behaved group with very few issues and no SEN statements. Given the time of year, applicants with previous experience delivering the Year 4 curriculum/schemes of work is highly desirable. Applications from teachers who have previously taught in KS2 but not Year 4 are still encouraged to apply as there is a strong year group partner on hand to support the transition. QTS, UK experience and an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service are essential requirements.
Described as a calm and settled school, it continues to be rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted over the years. This is a 2-form entry so collaborative planning is encouraged between year group teachers. The school promotes student welfare and well-rounded development by way of an active student council, the Place2Be and various ICT and community-based projects. There is ample staff parking available and the school is located within a 10 minute walk of an Overground station.
